In 1995, Janet Brown began importing leather goods and sarongs and supplying direct to the public from her Wanaka garage. This soon expanded to sourcing furniture from Asia and Indonesia and selling to people in Wanaka, Queenstown, and Central Otago. It wasn’t long before Janet travelled further a field, seeking out antiques, character pieces and homeware from China, India and other parts of Asia. Janet’s daughter Anna took over the business in 2007.
The brand has grown substantially over the past two decades and this year the new Brown & Co. Home name evolved. It better reflects the wider team and expanding product offering while encapsulating the same values and philosophies as my Anna’s mother’s when she established the Janet Brown boutique you know and love today
Brown & Co. Home continues to provide inspiration for interior design & homeware lovers who want to feature something different and authentic in their homes, where every item has a history and tells a story.
